such turbulent times. The rapid rate of changes and delays do inhibit our operations, as this is an industry-wide issue. To contend with the ongoing changes, NCS will actively update/monitor this page. Please note, that while we are
exceptionally confident in our ability to offer you fast, precise information, our pandemic circumstances may impede the process. Periodic inclement weather and flooding can also cause courts to close. While our exemplary swiftness and

Los Angeles	CA	08/23/2021	Limited Access	*What is the D.O.B. situation?*California superior courts have started removing the date-of-birth search fields from their online portals. Due to the nature of such a dramatic change, this will prove challenging for larger volumed areas. The original DOB filter for Los Angeles has been replaced with a “month and year” filter, (M&YOB). Appriss utilizes the in-court process as it’s always been the most accurate, timely, and price-effective process for our clients. The in-court PAT replaced a full DOB with a M&YOB.What does this mean for future searches?The month and year are still available on the PAT, but the clerk will not verify more than month and year. Defendants who physically appear in court are the only ones allowed to have full DOB accessed. Attorneys are also excluded from the PII and will not be able to access the full DOB. National Crime Search is currently working to assess the impact on our searches both in turnaround time and clerk fees. The Superior court hasn’t yet indicated a fee schedule for the assistance linked with confirmation of Month and Year (M&YOB) on searches. Los Angeles	CA	7/22/2024	Delayed	The Superior Court has reopened all 36 courthouse locations. However, the public terminal computers are currently non-operational, and clerks are unable to assist. Some pages of the Court’s online public access system are available, while others will be restored in the coming days as the Court’s systems are fully brought back online. The Court is working diligently to get the Court’s network systems back up and running in the wake of the ransomware attack on Friday, July 19. Please anticipate continued delays.
Bibb	GA	5/14/2024	Delayed	Superior and State Court indexes are offline out of an abundance of caution due to a potential cyber-attack. The court is actively adding additional security measures and is investigating the potential breach. While the court confirmed that they are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible there is no ETA at this time. Please expect delays.
Clayton	GA	7/11/2024	Delayed	07/11/2024, Superior court is now fully 100% clerk-assisted. There is no news on the restoration of the pat. Please anticipate continued delays.
Muscogee	GA	3/26/2024	Delayed	Currently working with court clerks as we experience connectivity issues. Please expect delays while we complete searches via conventional methods.
Newton	GA	7/16/2024	Delayed	Currently working with court clerks as we experience remote connectivity issues. Please expect delays while we complete searches via conventional methods.
Cook	IL	7/24/2024	Delayed	The Odyssey public access terminal is currently down. The court has no ETA or timeline regarding when access will be restored. Please anticipate delays.
Berrien	MI	04/2/2024	Delayed	Berrien County Trial Court is undergoing a transition period as they switch to a new computer system. During this time, access and the ability to conduct record checks will be suspended for 2-3 weeks.
Antrim, Grand Traverse, & Leelanau	MI	07/16/2024	Delayed	07/16/2024, Grand Traverse & Leelanau counties are both up to date on case information but remain behind on DOB verifications with no estimated time for completion. Clerks are verifying and updating case information and catching up on date of birth (DOB) verifications in Antrim county. Please continue to anticipate delays.
DeSoto	MS	04/30/2024	Delayed	The clerks are behind on completing background checks due to staffing shortages. We are expecting extended delays.
Holmes	MS	02/27/2024	Delayed	The clerks are behind on completing background checks. We are expecting extended delays.
Tioga	NY	6/27/2024	Delayed	In March 2024, Tioga transitioned to clerk-assisted operations. The clerks have since found they cannot manage their regular daily tasks in addition to assisting with searches. As a result, they have implemented a limit of 10 searches per day. This has led to a backlog, with no current plans to revise the process. Currently, clerks are processing search requests from early May. Please expect delays.
Cuyahoga	OH	05/7/2024	Delayed	06/06/2024, conversion to the new case management system is complete. Please continue to expect delays while we catch up from the transition.
Bexar	TX	6/06/2024	Delayed	The Court has merged its Court Records and Fugitive searches into a single Justice Portal. At present, no criminal data is accessible on the new public portal. As a result, we are unable to process searches at this time. We are collaborating closely with the court to obtain further information. Please anticipate delays.
San Jacinto	TX	7/18/2024	Delayed	The Court is transitioning to a new case management system with no ETA for when the transition will be completed. Although online public access is currently unavailable, public computers are available in the court. As we work to rebuild our automation to align with these changes, research will be conducted through conventional methods. Please anticipate delays during this transition period.
San Patricio	TX	7/16/2024	Delayed	07/16/2024, conversion to the new case management system is complete. Please continue to expect delays while we catch up from the transition.
Multiple Counties	MI	04/11/2023	Delayed	Due to Michigan’s clean slate law that went into effect on 4/11/2023, multiple counties are experiencing delays and have reporting limitations. For more information, please click here.
